He collaborates with bodybuilders on social media and also does freelance modeling gigs in New York.

Who is David Laid?

Laid was born in January 1998 in Estonia. After losing his father in a ship accident at the age of two, David’s mother moved him and his two younger brothers to the United States for a better life. 

During his teen years, a sudden growth sprout made him extra skinny. He struggled with low self-esteem because of his frail figure and was often the target of bullying. David was even called chicken legs by his hockey coach. 

After being diagnosed with scoliosis at 14, David started focusing on physical training. He became an Internet sensation after sharing his transformation video on YouTube. His YouTube channel has grown over the years and he now has 974k subscribers.

Fitness Transformed His Life 

David started weight training under the supervision of his physiotherapist. It was a try to escape the consequences of this medical condition. As he started gaining muscles, he gained more confidence and soon got comfortable in his skin.

His primary aim was developing muscles but soon he fell in love with strength training. Strength training became a source of motivation for him. For his transformation, he worked with fitness gurus like Jeff Seid, Hodge Twins, and March Fitt.

David Laid’s Fitness Program 

Laid follows the “DUP program”, a strength training program with an intense 6-day push + pull + legs split, highly effective for improving muscular strength. This program is famous among collegiate powerlifting athletes. 

The length of David’s program is 9 weeks and there are 6 sessions per week. In these 6 sessions, two are legs, two are for push and two for the pull. Each session starts with leg squats, bench press for push and deadlift for the pull. This high-frequency training program helps in building muscles and it exposes you to some heavyweights.
