Denise Dellagiacoma is originally from Milan, Italy, but at times she may be based in Barcelona between her frequent trips abroad to majestic locales like Sri Lanka. Denise Dellagiacoma is the founder of Yoga Academy with its main base in Milan, Italy. Denise began her career as a professional cross-country athlete with special attention on cross-country skiing. But over the years she turned from the intensity of cross-country athletics to yoga and meditation. Denise Dellagiacoma even developed her own patented style, Mind-Body Flow.

Denise Dellagiacoma offers both in-person and live stream yoga and meditation practices. Her program is free and has a level suitable for any and all practitioners, from the novice to the spiritually ascended master out there! The levels she offers include her Mind Body Flow, yoga for beginners, fast yoga, meditation, easy yoga and focus asana. Denise Dellagiacoma’s program has a goal of aligning the mind with the body and spirit, Denise Dellagiacoma’s program aims to help lead practitioners to better, happier selves.

Some of her sample poses from her unique and novel program include several asanas that aid in relaxing the mind and body.

  • Denise Dellagiacoma’s Makarasana- the crocodile pose

This pose found in both modern and hatha yoga and begins with the body lying face down. The head and feet are lifted with the front torso serving as a place of stability. This pose improves posture, reduces stress, and gives your back a nice stretch.

  • Denise Dellagiacoma’s Uttana Mandukasana- the Upright Frog Pose

This pose enters with a kneeling pose, with the knees being set as wide as can be and the feet under or behind your butt. Your body stretches upwards with your arms crossed behind you back and palms touching. This pose is great for opening up the lungs and airways. Like many of Denise’s other poses and programs, this pose helps to quell feelings of stress and anxiety in our lives.

  • Denise Dellagiacoma’s Mandusaka- The Frog Pose

Denise Dellagiacoma sure likes her poses named after aquatic fauna! This pose is the standard origin of the Uttana Mandukasana and goes a little differently but serves to be no less stress-relieving and muscle soothing. This pose also enters with a kneeling position, but this time the feet are positioned with both big toes touching and the upper torso positioned atop your folded knees. This asana is said to give the organs a nice massage and aid in easing constipation and indigestion. Not only that, but it is said this pose can help to assuage stress, anxiety, and minor depression.
